Now that we've checked it off our list and analyzed what we enjoyed and didn't enjoy while considering cost and initial expectations, to be honest, we think the meal was a bit overrated for what we anticipated. Overall, it was a rich, very well-presented meal with tasty wine pairings and the impeccable service that's been synonymous with Thomas Keller's restaurants for many years. This tasted like a Bloody Mary with cold ass shellfish. I'm not a shrimp cocktail fan at all, don't like Bloody Marys and don't care for cold lobster. Santa Barbara Spiny Lobster Tail - definitely our least favorite of everything. Hen Egg Custard - really didn't care for this, but the explanation about how the eggshell is prepared and apparently is a "rite of passage" for first time TFL staff is interesting I'm not very big into sweets, so that's just me! the passionfruit sorbet - the rest of the desserts are tasty, but way too cloying and too much for me especially after the previous courses. Musquée De Provence Pumpkin Velouté (pumpkin soup with hazelnut and truffle).Carnaroli Risotto Biologico (risotto with truffle). The 2nd picture is the only one we have of the initial "Everything Bagel" amuse bouche. I've included photos of the wine pairing and course menu. If you're trying to get one, too, definitely check out the TFL subreddit! There is also a private Facebook group for the same purpose.Ģ) Valentine's Day is the day my husband proposed a few years ago. Back in January, we lucked out in purchasing a reservation from someone on reddit who couldn't make their original reservation. The French Laundry tasting menu dinner experience was definitely special for 2 reasons:ġ) we've had this on our list to dine for years, tried to get a reservation for our honeymoon, but learned the hard way how difficult it is to procure one.
